Pre-Christmas Rush

It's been pretty busy here of late.   In addition to the new site for Xplosive Fitness, an Edinburgh Personal Trainer, we've launched two additional new sites.  One for Edinburgh construction specialists, Livingstone Barnes & Cunningham and another for Wedding Band Showcases, an exciting offshoot of the expanding Music for Scotland empire to promote their new live showcase events across the country.

The Livingstone Barnes & Cunningham site utilises 45b's new "Nuggets" content management system, which allows us to deploy fully content-managed sites quickly (and therefore inexpensively).  They had a requirement for an updateable image gallery, so we set about creating a bespoke gallery module to bolt-on to the basic Nuggets installation.  This ties in a Flash front-end gallery with a simple to use back-end administration area.  Adding new galleries is a breeze.  In fact, it's all so simple that the CMS training that took place at their west end office took less than an hour.  Which is nice, given the costs of parking up there!

Music for Scotland just seem to grow and grow.  Not content with the recent video integration into their site, they embarked on putting on a live wedding band showcase event in Edinburgh, allowing soon-to-be-newlyweds the opportunity to watch their potential wedding acts live on stage.  This was promoted via a popup from their home page, and was such a success that they decided it warranted a site of its own.  So, Wedding Band Showcases was built.  This is administered from their existing Music for Scotland system, and ties in with their burgeoning artist database.  This means that managing the site's content is as easy as can be.  They just need to enter the event location and date, then select from their database which acts are appearing.  The system does the rest for them.   Simple, and given the promotional potential, and ease of maintenance, was money well spent!
