Putting Christmas decorations on your website
Okay it’s been a pretty grim year so please forgive us for getting all festive.
This is just a simple snippet of code you can use in your WordPress theme to automatically switch over to your ‘festive’ logo for the month of December.
<?php
$month = date('m');
if($month == 12){ ?>
<a href="<?php bloginfo('home'); ?>/"><img src="your-festive-logo.png" /></a>
<?php } else { ?>
<a href="<?php bloginfo('home'); ?>/"><img src="your-regular-logo.png" alt="" /></a>
<?php } ?>That’s it. Saves you switching it manually every year, and if you’re still suffering on January 1st, there’s no need to bother yourself with a website update. It’ll have reverted back to your business-as-usual branding.

What our clients say...
Our site needed help in two areas – the design and the technical backend. Craig was enormously helpful on both fronts. We found him to be patient, full of good ideas, and just what we needed. I would highly recommend his services.
Ian James – Milburn Lewis
Since engaging with Craig our website has fluidity, increased functionality and speed. As a complex site with over 5000 pages Craig has worked diligently to our brief, complimenting this with his own creative input.
Ray Bugg – DIGIT
We chose 45b based on examples of other websites Craig has developed and recommendations from other colleagues. We provided a brief on what we were looking for and we were keen to develop new functions for online feedback and requests. Craig has developed a modern looking website for us which is a lot easier to navigate and has the added functions we were looking for. Delighted with the outcome and would recommend Craig to anyone.
Les Malone – SMART Centre
The process of designing and setting up our website was flawless. Craig was a professional throughout and helped us establish our brand within the market. He listened to us and explained every step during the consultation period. Without doubt 45b were second to none in helping us grow the business through our new website. A five star ***** service.
Stuart McKay – Doubtfire Resourcing
It has been great working with Craig. The website he has provided us with has been exactly what we were expecting, and it is great to finally have a theme that doesn’t limit us. He was incredibly understanding throughout the entire process and was happy to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend Craig to anyone looking to give their website a refresh.
Ailidh Mather – SnapDragon IP
Craig is very creative and understands quickly what the client wants to achieve. He helped me enormously by developing a checklist of the information required, so there was a clear structure for us both to work from. Craig delivered on both timescales and on budget. I would highly recommend 45b to anyone looking to develop a website of their own!
Rachel Russell – South East of Scotland Cancer Network
Craig at 45b was recommended to me to build our new website because of his web design skills but also because he is so easy to work with. From the outset Craig clearly explained how it could be built in simple terms and he patiently answered any technical questions I had. I don’t hesitate to recommend 45b to anyone considering building a bespoke website for their business.
Ro Bain – The Mill House

David Calder – Luxury Wellbeing
Work with Craig was a terrific experience as he was intuitive and thoughtful about how my website would work. The design was great, but also the layout made an immediate difference to my SEO and site useage. The bounce rate almost immediately went from over 60% to just 2% and the page hits rose from 1-2 per visit to over 8. His input on the format for the site was invaluable in achieving this.
Angela Casey – Gluten Free Edinburgh
